The Pied Piper pipes up once more

and leads me to his pastry lair

He dares me to indulge

delve into his delicious folded treats

Plenty at four and twenty

baked to perfection

surrounded by serrated barbed edging

brushed with butter

and full fat milk.

He takes my thumb

forces it through the crust

deep

bearing witness to

my melting point

reached

with collapse and ruin.

Blistering

he sucks it better

his mouth is cinnamon

my mouth is

meat


In the sorting I have rediscovered many half baked poems
that need now serving with semi skimmed mil
k

or custard if you are strange!!
